St. Anthony of Padua Plates
This project is a three-piece ceramic plate series created for St. Anthony of Padua Church in The Woodlands, TX. Each plate is inspired by a different feature of the church’s design and history:
Church Logo Plate – A plate featuring the St. Anthony of Padua logo, carved and interpreted in clay to highlight the church’s identity in a simple, clear, and meaningful way.
Stained Glass Plate – A design inspired by the rose window above the entry of the new chapel building, using pattern and layout from the original glasswork to create a ceramic version that echoes the design of the window.
Light Fixture Plate – A plate reflecting the shapes and geometry found in the church’s iron light fixtures, translating those architectural details into surface carving and line work.
Together, these plates form a unified collection that celebrates St. Anthony’s visual elements while giving each inspiration its own distinct design. They were created as custom pieces, gifted to the parish, to honor the church’s character through handmade craft.
